Privacy Policy and Consumer Health Data Notice

This policy explains what information _mikehowe ("we," "us") collects through this website, the calorie calculator and account system, our optional email updates, and our online coaching service; why we collect it; who we share it with; and the choices and rights you have over it. This site is operated by Michael Howe, doing business as _mikehowe, based in Seattle, Washington. It includes the consumer health data notice required by Washington's My Health My Data Act.

What we collect

Calculator accounts

• Email address and password, used to create and secure your account
• Sex, age, height, and weight
• Activity level and stated goal (fat loss, maintenance, or muscle gain)
• Body fat percentage, if you choose to provide it
• Weigh-ins you log over time
• The calorie, macronutrient, and fiber targets we calculate for you, and any adjustments made based on your logged weigh-ins

Email updates (optional)

• Your email address, and a record of when you opted in, if you check the optional email box when you sign up

Coaching clients

• Contact details: name, email, phone number, and age
• Payment: handled by Stripe. We do not see or store your full card number.
• Health screening answers, injuries, medications you list, training history, schedule, and equipment
• Body weight, measurements, progress photos, sleep, and training logs
• For the Training + Nutrition plan: diet history and food intake
• Text messages, emails, and form videos you send us

Why we collect it

• Calculator: to calculate your results, save your plan so it's there when you return, and adjust your calorie target based on how your logged weight trends over time.
• Email updates: to send the training and nutrition emails you asked for.
• Coaching: to screen you for safe training, write and adjust your program, set nutrition targets, review your form, bill you, and reply to your messages.

We do not use your health information for advertising, and we do not build behavioral or marketing profiles from it. Email updates are sent only to people who opt in, and we never add your health data to our email list.

Consent

We collect consumer health data only with your consent, or as necessary to provide the calculator or coaching you requested. Coaching clients are asked for this consent with a separate checkbox on the intake form. Joining the email list is a separate, optional choice. We will not share consumer health data with anyone for a purpose unrelated to providing our service without your separate consent.

You can withdraw consent at any time. For calculator accounts, delete your account (see "Your rights" below). For coaching, email coaching@mikehowefit.com; because coaching depends on this data, withdrawing consent ends coaching. To leave the email list, use the unsubscribe link in any email.

Who we share it with

We do not sell your information. We share it only with service providers needed to run the site and our services, under their own privacy and security terms:

• Supabase: database and authentication for calculator accounts
• An email delivery provider: account emails such as confirmation and password reset
• An email newsletter provider: email updates, for people who opt in (email address only)
• Stripe: coaching payments
• Google Workspace: coaching email
• Our coaching app provider: coaching programs, logs, check-in information, photos, and messages
• Our text messaging provider: coaching text messages and form videos

We may also disclose information if required by law, such as in response to a valid legal request.

Cookies and local storage

This site does not use advertising or tracking cookies, and we do not run analytics that identify you individually. Your login session is kept in your browser's local storage, which is necessary for the calculator and account system to work. It is not used for tracking or advertising. If that ever changes, we will update this policy and, where required, ask for your consent first.

How long we keep it

• Calculator accounts: for as long as your account is active. Deleting your account permanently deletes your profile and weigh-in history.
• Email updates: until you unsubscribe.
• Coaching: while you're a client and for 12 months after you cancel, then deleted, unless you ask for deletion sooner or we're required to keep billing records.

Your rights

You have the right to:

• Access the information we hold about you, including a list of who it was shared with
• Correct inaccurate information
• Delete your information. Calculator users can do this anytime with the "Delete account" option after logging in, which permanently removes your login, saved plan, and full weigh-in history, including from our database provider.
• Withdraw consent for the collection or use of your health data at any time
• Appeal if we decline a request

To exercise any of these rights, email mike@mikehowefit.com with "Privacy request" in the subject. We'll verify it's you before acting, and we will not retaliate against you for exercising any of these rights.

Security

We use industry-standard practices to protect your information, including encrypted storage, password-protected accounts, and access controls that limit access to you and to us. No method of transmission or storage is perfectly secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

Children's privacy

This site and our coaching are not directed at, and are not intended for use by, anyone under 18. We do not knowingly collect information from anyone younger.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the "Last updated" date above. We'll email coaching clients about material changes before they take effect and, where required by law, seek your renewed consent before applying a change to information already collected.
